I felt the need to leave feedback after the appalling way I was spoken to at Border Vets today . It is the second time I have had the misfortune of speaking with a specific receptionist . I’m unsure how I stand legally putting her name on a public review but I have reported her twice to the management at the practice . She was unhelpful to the point of rudeness on both occasions . I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience and not a valued customer . I contacted the practice with a complaint back in May when the first unpleasant exchange happened and I was assured that the receptionist concerned would be reminded of her commitment to customers . Clearly this has not been done as I had a further unpleasant exchange with her today . I ultimately spoke with a different helpful receptionist and it was only due to her professionalism that saved me from taking my custom to an alternative vet practice .

These vets were very helpful when our Daughter and Son in Laws dog had trouble with hers eye. They treated her with great care and she made a brilliant recovery in a week.

I recently had to have my 20 year old cat, Jinx, put to sleep. A very distressing experience made easier by the kind, caring attitude of everyone at Border vets. They also sent a condolence card, and some forget me, not seeds to plant in his memory. Thanks to all.

I am very much an advocate for Border vets. However, I have rated a 3 star as the communication between everyone concerned has not been as good as it could be recently. I'm an overly fraught dog mum and so I ensure I inform them at any time I am speaking with them, about my requirements or whatever the situation calls for. Recently, after going to great lengths to explain what I wanted, when I got a call back the information was severely depleted. Even yesterday, I double checked everything only to find it didn't appear it was all on their 'to do' list. I had a call about collecting my little dog after his anaesthetic and would I like to collect him from the kennel or could he be brought out to me. I specified because of his likely stressful state, I would come to the kennel and collect him, it didn't happen, he was brought to me. It didn't matter as he was still groggy but don't ask the question, receive the answer and then not carry out the customer's request. All is ok with my doggy and I won't be changing my vets but I have been a tad disappointed that I felt in a position of wondering what might not happen or what could go wrong due to unconnected communication. I have also asked the vets to make a comment, add some paperwork and sign an insurance claim because my insurance company has requested it but I've been told it'll take 2 to 3 weeks because the person who does it has been off. Why is there no one else able to do this? A further concern, sadly.

Border USED to be brilliant! BUT unfortunately they seem to be VERY Monday oriented! Half a job vets too go for you to get charged for the full service when we only receive ld half, the vet did not ask me if I wanted my fur baby flead and wormed I had already done this!! Receptionists refused to take my insurance details and told me they ONLY accept PDSA- insurance is insurance!! My dog used to like going there then she had to stay over one night (I didn’t understand why as I could have booked her in the next day but reception wouldn’t have none of it) it was only for a shave of her Hinde and my dogs gland got neglected and is now the size of my fist!! I have to lift it up for her to go toilet!! The next time after my baby stayed there she was yelping so bad I had to comfort her, we both left riddled in fleas and I mean riddled so I don’t know if someone bought a hedgehog in but when I was analysing the floors all floors were dirty and corners and edges were almost black! There was soo much dust on the shelves and some advertisement cards!! They seem to be very different they seem to act like an animal is just a number
